Clare Balding, Alex Scott and guests look back over the opening day of the Olympics, with reports and reaction on all the big stories. The first medals of the games were awarded in shooting, while the men's cycling road race winner was crowned after a gruelling 234km course that included a stretch on the slopes of Mount Fuji. Max Whitlock and his British team-mates were competing in the men's team gymnastics, while medals were also awarded in archery, fencing, judo, shooting and taekwondo.
