From early stone circles to great cathedrals, Fred travels around Britain tracing the development of our places of worship. He begins his journey in Preston, where Fred is repairing the tallest church steeple in Britain, while in County Durham he discovers a Saxon church built from the remains of an abandoned Roman Fort. At St Paul's Cathedral he finds out how the dome is kept in shape and then joins the stone masons to help with their restoration work at York Minster.
