On the journey Carol reflects on how growing up there shaped her life as she meets local people whose stories champion the region's resilience, determination, and grit. Carol starts her trip by heading back to her hometown of Prestatyn, she shares personal memories of her upbringing in the 1960s with her Mum, a divorcee who raised three children single-handedly. On this personal journey Carol finds out how things have changed for women since her childhood as she meets award-winning blacksmith artist Rhian Wyn Jones who forged a new career for herself after the end of her marriage, tries her hand at milking 21st century style with the next generation of young women taking on the farming industry at Coleg Cambria Llysfasi, and finishes this leg of her journey with a unique adrenaline rush - dog-sledding with top female competitor Jolene Swiffen.
